Simple Mexican Rice

This rice recipe is simple and comes out perfectly every time!


2 tablespoons olive oil

2 cups long grain rice

4 cups water

About 1/4 cup chicken flavored bouillon seasoning


  1. Place 2 tablespoons of olive oil into a nonstick sauté pan over medium-high heat.

  2. To that, add 2 cups of long grain rice. (Remember that the type of rice is important since different types require the use of different cooking methods.)

  3. Stir rice with the olive oil until evenly coated. Continue browning rice until it transitions from a translucent color into bright white grains.

  4. Add an 8 oz can of tomato sauce and continue stirring to avoid clumping.

  5. Quickly add in your 4 cups of water and continue stirring until there are no more clumps of rice and tomato sauce.

  6. Bring the mixture to a gentle bubble and boil.

  7. Add your chicken bouillon seasoning and stir until completely dissolved.

  8. Cover with a lid and lower heat to low.

  9. After 10 minutes, stir rice to redistribute any water that is left for even cooking.

  10. Continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes.

  11. Once the water is almost completely evaporated/absorbed, turn off the heat, cover, and set aside for 5-10 minutes.

  12. Serve and enjoy!
